The Northern Outlook

" A POWERFUL EXPERIENCE" ... 'HOPE'

WE DECIDED TO BE BACK WITH MORE, FOR YOU

MAYBE TO CREATE A POSITIVE MIND SET FOR NEXT WINTER?

What an excellent day, please organise another one.
What a fun day out.
What an amazing positive energy in that room
Food for thought
The huge possibilities to improve my life.
Inspiration
The courage to move forward.
Totally took away my 'fear' of alternative methods.

Such were the notes on our feedback forms, and how very true they are, how much the six plus one of us actually felt the same way.
The day was 'full on', from 10 am til way after 5 pm. And people were still buzzing on their way out the door after a very informative and interactive day, which kept all the promises - and the day included wonderful catering.

We all got a deeper understanding of how people are connected and how we can connect to ourselves. The message that came across was that it is not the therapist healing us but that it is us healing ourselves, so the day was amazingly empowering and we got an insight into great tools to do just that. Both, alternative or complementary therapy alongside traditional medicine can be used (the author would like to put a question mark to this, since traditional somehow implies that the one was there before the other, and in this case it is not precisely in the today's definition of traditional to historically put 'our approach' after... but these are pure semantics, right? )

We, the audience, also began to understand that some of our issues today might have been created generations before and that we can today decide to heal, for our future generations to be free of a certain burden - or dis-ease.

It became so much more clear what hypnosis really is and how our conscious and unconscious mind relate.

The organisers kept their promise and through fun games allowed people to experience group dynamics.

What a huge difference a day is when we make a choice and keep our input and output positive.

Amazingly we realised that our energy flows and connects us. We learned how our mind is all we need to experience a strong physical response to a (even imagined) sensory input, how to release energy and instantly feel better, how to have different thoughts and immediately gain more strength, that it is easy to change our emotional state.

Practical demonstrations showed how blocked energy in the body impacts on overall wellbeing and how to release that, how arm mobility shortly after a major shoulder operation increased dramatically, how fast and effective your spelling memory can be corrected. For most of us it was maybe expected but we had it confirmed then: some issues unfold, develop and heal on a soul level and cannot be 'put into words' or otherwise processed with our clever conscious mind.

Oh, and of course, we mustn't forget the wonderful raffle prizes like books, CD’s, neck stabilisers, T-shirts, free sessions with the therapists, just to top up the generosity. " (Quote - Unquote)

Thank you to all who helped, to Peter from the Northern Outlook, to Debbie from Plains FM, to Wendy from The Gift Rangiora, to MoreFM, to the Warehouse and NewWorld (for letting us distribute fliers), to Frank and Simon for designing and printing, to Madeleine and Janine for making the event known in the community, to Jan for editing our Ad, to Dawn and Richard Sparks for the beautiful venue plus yummy catering, to Heike, Jane, Nick, Patricia, Sahera and Susani and, of course: YOU, who were there and are encouraging people like us to do more of this for more of you.

View from the side

We, my husband and I, were walking on the beach this morning and discussing RET and goal setting. While I'm very involved in this usually having an outside perspective to the client or customer's story, Frank is working with colleagues on objectives which are a mixture of personal and business elements.

The question Frank asked, is whether is better to have an outside perspective because it does not come with 'baggage'. That is the person helping to determine where you are going and what are the issues is free from emotional attachment (like of people or tasks or the environment) and free from having dependencies (need the money, can't do this because ..). Which makes it easier to ask why, how, and what and by doing so peel the issue free from the surrounding pieces.

On the other side being part of the system - as Frank is - makes it a lot easier to understand priorities and business dependencies. But it can come with emotional engagement that clouds the decision making.

In RET it is not important at all being part of or knowing the whole environment of the customer. There is no judgment of any elements coming up, neither importance nor on value. RET is about to release old believe elements and negative attachments and rediscovering new pathways.

Goal settings in comparison is different but has similar elements. It clarifies your way forward. It gives you an objective, something to go out and achieve it. Goal setting is about priorities, it includes where you are and your surroundings. You arrive on a decision where you want to go without judging. That means you are not saying my old way was wrong rather accepting a different way of going forward.
